What does your flood defence product range consist of?
Our product range comprises:

• Standard Floodshield door barriers that will fit most front and back doors
• Waterdoors for wider openings such as patio doors and garages
• Waterwalls that will fit across wide spans such as driveways
• Flood Angel® Bespoke Flood Defender™; an alternative to Waterdoor
• Backflow and Backwater valves to prevent sewage surging back through the waste pipes into the property
• Flood Angel™ Airbrick that replaces traditional airbricks to prevent inflow of floodwater beneath the property
• Flood Angel™ Airbrick Covers.  A cheaper alternative to replacement airbricks.
• Submersible pumps.  These can be either hired or purchased from UK Flood Barriers.  Please call or email for details.
• Toilet bungs and U bend bungs for emergency use.  Please call or email for details.

What is the usual delivery time for flood defence products?
The Floodshield, Flood Angel™ Airbrick, Flood Angel™ Airbrick Covers, Backflow and Backwater valves are stock items.  Orders received before noon will be processed for dispatch that day, for delivery the following day via courier.

Will the flood defence products be supplied with fitting instructions?
Yes, our products are supplied with clear, easy to use instructions for maintenance and installation.  It is important that these are followed closely for optimum product performance.  Any queries relating to installation can be emailed through to UK Flood Barriers on enquiries@ukfloodbarriers.co.uk

Are your products Kite-marked?
No, not at present but they have been tested far and above the new kitemark standard in our own purpose built testing facility in Droitwich.  The Kitemark PAS 1188 has been reviewed however it will not be possible to have our products tested to the BSI standard until November as the testing facility in H R Wallingford has not been available for almost 2 years.

Do your products carry any awards or certifications?

• Our British-made Floodshield has won numerous awards: Gold award at The British Invention Show 2004  and Gold award for the International Invention of the Year 2004, amongst others.
• The Backflow Valve is manufactured in Canada, is CSA Certified (CSA AB181.1-M90) and carries an IAPMO Registration.  The CSA Certificate number is LM109421-1:1997.
• The Backwater Valve in manufactured in Europe, and fulfills the requirements of European Standard EN 13564-1:2002.
• The Flood Angel™ Airbrick is compliant with BS 493:1995 and BS EN 1356-1/2 2002.

What guarantees do you offer?
We offer a manufacturers’ 1 year warranty on our product range.  Our products have been used to great effect in the UK for a number of years and have proven themselves time and time again under flood conditions.  It is however, up to the customer to ensure that the products are maintained correctly since this will affect the warranty.  All barriers should be stored in appropriate conditions: ie out of direct sunlight in order to avoid any deterioration in the rubber seals.  The Floodshield door barrier should be stored flat, ideally in its original box.  The Flood Angel™ Airbrick and Backflow/Backwater Valve require only periodic inspection.  After a flood event they should be checked according to the instructions provided to remove debris.

Do you carry out flood surveys?
Yes, we have full UK coverage for surveying and installation. 

Does your company install flood defence products?
Yes, we have full UK coverage for installation of our products.

Will my insurance premium be lowered by fitting flood defence products?
UK Flood Barriers recommends that the property owner liaises with their insurance provider directly.  However, in many circumstances where a previously-flooded property has been turned down for insurance, installing flood defence products enables the property owner to obtain insurance.  The benefits of fitting flood defences to a property in advance of a flood far outweigh the cost of trying to get insurance cover after flooding.  Not to mention the distress and devastation caused to householders and businesses caused by flooding.

Can I go away on holiday and know that my house is protected against flooding?
Yes; our Floodshield door barriers can be fitted in place, and cannot be stolen when the door is closed and locked.  The Backflow/Backwater valve and Flood Angel® Airbricks are “fit and forget”.  The Waterdoor and Flood Angel® Flood Defender™ barriers can also be deployed and left in place; alternatively  arrangements can be made for a third party to simply slot in the panels of the Waterdoor/Flood Defender™ barrier should the need arise.
