FLOOD ACTION GROUPS
Supporting local community
Proactive and creative, Flood Action Groups are in evidence right across the country, and UK Flood Barriers always welcomes the opportunity to be actively engaged in working with them - advising, supporting and assisting them to achieve the best flood defence outcomes in their area.
Often set up in response to localised flooding events, Flood Action Groups can help influence how floods are managed in their local area by working with the agencies responsible for flood prevention to achieve reductions to the flood risk.
The strength of the Groups is that they have local expertise and knowledge about their own flood risk and they are a vital source of information for the Environment Agency and Local Authorities. By working with (rather than against) those who manage flood risk, community groups can influence and bring about change in the way floods are managed.
Flood Action Groups are a powerful voice to lobby locally and nationally to ensure that their risk from flooding is reduced.
How we engage with Flood Action Groups
Groups are welcome here by prior appointment, to view our
tank and flood testing facility
. Here delegates can observe how, during flood conditions, water enters a property and witness flood resistance products in action.
